Well we just returned from Finland and assembled our 2nd largest machine ever built. This monster has 16 ft of horizontal travel and over 8 ft of vertical travel. We gave them a couple extra days set up assistance to help with the language barriers. Barriers?, naw, more like bumps in the road. Everything went smoothly and you should be seeing some amazing new designs coming from our friends at Trikatex.fi

Thank you guys for an uneventful visit and a smooth setup.

Well folks, while I was in Alberta, South of Calgary, it was the “coldest place on the planet” only in temperature.

The guys at True North Construction were ready and raring to go. The picked it up and are now cutting with confidence. So in the Lethbridge-Calgary area Just call True North in Lethbridge for all you foam, stone, or wall finish needs.

We assembled the frame in 45 minutes, took 45 to tune the linear guides and 30 to install the cnc system. Almost a land speed record. We spent the rest of the time learning theory of ohlms law and material handling and fixtures. It will prove to them to be a real short cut to making parts and designs that will be more efficient than most.

We compared the compettetions product to the product they will manufacture and it theirs is absolutely superior.

Good Luck and Call me for help.

More Soon

Scott

We have just shipped a system to Alabama for cutting Foam Polyethylene. The set up was a little slow going but they are successfully cutting. The experience was a little stressful. The material they wished to cut was already pre-cut to shapes that were a little smaller than the final shape they wished to have. They will have to cut the parts from two pieces and then heat seam them which will take extra time.

The larger lesson to be learned in this set up is to not begin a project when you are frantic to have things going. This will certainly cause stress which will lead to mistakes and cause you to not THINK IT THROUGH. Even I am subject to this from time to time.

The interesting thing about this week end was the products end use was for the floatation devices used in an oil spill for containment of the product while floating.

O.k. Pictures will start in the morning. Tonight we are going to begin framing The temple. We spent from 11:00 am until 4:42 making the block faces for the building and the cornice. These will come in handy for a myriad of things in your future. This is one Idea I am giving you why you need this machine. This is a relatively un-tapped interior design element that when people see it it should certainly catch-on.

Panels for the wall

Here we go… After pouring and curing about a bajillion panels (actually 200) and 15 seat panels we began to assemble. Mike Cripps, Gene Jeffers, Paul Alvarez, and myself did the framing and the assembly of the panels on the float.

The panels were adhered with foam polyurethane adhesive. The columns have a 2×4 for a spine and were also adhered with foam polyurethane. Each wall took about 1.5 hrs to adhere. The columns took about 1 hr each to adhere and finish.

This entire project was a lesson in how these panels will stand up to the elements and

Trailer all fixed sort of...

time. We decided on .25 inch concrete to keep the weight light and the surface should be relatively weather resistant.

All of the Lettering and symbols are Just styrofoam and are slated to be painted before the December parade. after this parade season we will replace all the lettering with stone over foam the same as the walls and columns.

The parade Went off with out a hitch and we had many compliments on the float. Now if you look at the panels and think about this for a minute. all you need to do is cast these and you can clad any interior wall and using the columns or balustrade made in the same manner have an outstanding INTERIOR wall covering that NO ONE else will have.

Between two beautiful brazen pillars
